Santana is sitting in the choir room filing her fingernails. It was the last day of school and she was ready to get out of that high school and out into the world. She had been waiting for the rest of the club for 30 minuets but that could also be due to the fact that boredom had led her to skip her previous class.
" Where is everyone? I am ready to get out of here. She said to herself. Now that Brittany was single it was also high time to use this summer to get her woman before someone else did.
The clock over the white erase board had just hit 2:15 and Santana was starting to get really bored. "Dammit I'm going for coffee. I'll be back by 2:30. . . or close enough to it."

Today was gonna be a good day, the last day of school and the first day of the Summer. A summer with his brother Finn, his newly found best friend Rachel, and of course Blaine the man he LOVED!!!

Finn walked into the choir room with a confident air about him. The New York trip was awesome! He go to hit all of big New York sites, He was back with Rachel, and the New Directions did well...though them could have done better if he hadn't kissed Rachel during their duet. Hopefully everyone wasn't still mad at him, but chances are they were.
He saw that his brother was the first one in the room. "Hey Kurt! Last day, ready for the big trip you dad was talking about?"

Kurt sighed at the mention of his dads 'trip'. Year after year his dad would talk him into going on a camping trip, not exactly his thing. Heat, dirt, the smell of freash water fish, and ghost stories...He shivered at the thought. But this year would could be special figuering it would be the first trip with Carol and Finn, and maybe Blaine would come.
"I'm as read as I'll ever be Finn. Im just ready to get the day done."

Santana sauntered into the choir room holding her iced late.
"Oh! Hey Kurt. Finn." she said bluntly shooting Finn a glare. "I'm glad to see that someone else is finally here. I was so bored waiting on people."
Santana sat down by Kurt and sipped on her coffee. "Love the hat. Any big plans for the summer? I think I'm going to convince my dad to send me and Britt to the beach." she said taking another drink.
The summer was going to be too hot in Ohio to wast her time in Lima Hights Adjacent. and who better to spend sexy bikini time with than Brittany. Besides it was about time to let California be graced with her presents. After all she had just hit New York and that was amazing even though Finn and Rachel lost the competition for them. Maybe she would get a part in a movie or something while on the coast. That would sure as hell put miss Berry in her place.

Brittany walked down the halls towards the choir room. She had gotten lost on the way, as per usual when she walked the halls by herself. She usually walked with Santana, but as she skipped her class, Brittany was left to her own defenses at the moment. As she walked into the room she saw Kurt, Finn, and Santana talking. Santana had her normal order of an iced latte. When her eyes landed on Santana their conversation played through her head. She was confused by some of it, but mostly she knew exactly what it meant. She knew she loved Santana, and Santana loved her. She didn't know if a true relationship would happen, but it didn't matter at the moment.
Brittany walked over to Santana and smiled as she said, "Love the hat. Any big plans for the summer? I think I'm going to convince my dad to send me and Britt to the beach."
Brittany cocked her head slightly to one side, letting her hair slip a little over an eye. "The beach?" She hadn't been to the beach in so long she could barely remember what it looked like...if she was even remembering a beach.

Santana looked up at the sound of Brittany's voice. She was glad that Brittany was finally there with her. No one would know it but the tall blonde had taken as much care of Santana as one possibly could. For all of her innocence she was more wise than anyone that the Latina princess had ever met.
"Yeah the beach. I thought it might be a nice vacation as opposed to being stuck here in Lima. What do you think?"
Santana smiled as Brittany got ready to answer. The look on her face was priceless and adorable.

So, it was finally summer. No one had ever taught Brittany how to read a calendar, so she had to guess most days on what to wear. But at the beach, she knew exactly what to wear. She had a little bikini that would do just fine. She looked at Santana and smiled, imagining her in a bikini just as hot.
She began thinking about everything she would pack. She had a swimsuit for everyday they were there, in every color. She could never remember what color was her favorite. She had towels to match. And she couldn't forget the tanning lotion. Then she thought about her diary. Well, she'd have to bring that. She couldn't leave it alone with her cat, Lord Tubbington. He'd been smoking again. How could she get him to stop? Before her thoughts wandered too far, she focused on Santana again.
"Yeah, the beach sounds awesome. As long as everyone there promises not to read my diary." Then, she added, almost as an after thought, "I have to bring it with me because Lord Tubbington has been reading it again."

Mercedes looked awesome. Well, she always looked awesome. But for the last day of school she decided to go all out. She was wearing clothes designed by the one and only Mercedes Jones. Life was going great right now. The New Directions won 12th place at Nationals. Mercedes felt like they would have placed higher if it hadn't been for Rachel and Finn's impromptu kiss, but she didn't blame Rachel. She might blame Finn a little bit, but not enough to be mad at him.
Life was extra great because of her secret relationship with Sam Evans. She kind of liked having a secret relationship. It made everything more exciting. She figured they would tell everyone eventually. But right now she was just happy to stay out of all the drama that a new public relationship would cause.
Mercedes marched right into the choir room. She saw Finn, Santana, and Brittany. But most importantly, she saw her best friend Kurt. Her best friend that she had never seen happier since he started dating Blaine Anderson, a member of Dalton Academy's glee club, The Warblers. She grinned as she stood just inside the door way of the room and cleared her throat. "The Diva has arrived!" she announced with gusto, her arms raised high in the air. She had a plan for next year and it all started today. Next year was the year for New Directions, and for Mercedes Jones.

This was going to be amazing. First of all, they had just gotten back from New York City. THE New York City. The place where Rachel belonged and where her name would be up in lights and everyone would know her name and no one would ever think of throwing a slushie in her face. The entire trip had been amazing. Well, except for the part where they had gotten 12th place. But, that was all about to change.
She had gone out to the record store in Westerville looking for song selections for summer auditions (there was a better music selection there okay) when she had spotted Wes and David, two of the Warblers. They told her about a competition they always went to in California and how had she not heard about this? Rachel was now determined to go to this competition and win it. It would be a great way to practice for Nationals next year. And if they were going to take home first place, they needed all the practice they could get. All she had to do was convince the rest of New Directions to go.
Rachel strolled into the choir room with a slight bounce in her step. Santana, Brittany, Kurt and Finn were there and Mercedes had just entered the room.
"The Diva has arrived!"
"You're not the only one!" Rachel added, laughing. There were three divas in this club. Rachel, Mercedes and Kurt. There were times when their strong personalities clashed and they didn't all always used to be friends, but now the trio got along wonderfully. The Broadway Diva walked into the room, grinning at Mercedes and smiling in the direction of Kurt, Finn and Brittany. Santana probably wouldn't have anything nice to say to her even if Rachel did try to be nice, so what was the point?
She looked around the room and saw that not all of the club was there yet including Mr. Schuester. Her big announcement could wait till later. "So, is everyone excited for the summer?"

"Hello miss Puckerberry." Santana glared in Rachel general direction. She was still afraid to look directly at the girl for fear that she would be turned to stone or something. She was still pretty mad at Finn and Rachel for the kiss fiasco that landed them in 12th at Nationals. But Finn was stupid all he had to go on was instinct. Rachel on the other hand was smart. She had known what she was doing and knew that it would cost them. "I'm planning on taking Brittany to the beach somewhere. It will be a nice vacation from this hell hole called Lima, Ohio. Well and it will keep me from breaking your nose . . . again. What's everybody else doing?"

"I'm planning on taking Brittany to the beach somewhere. It will be a nice vacation from this hell hole called Lima, Ohio. Well and it will keep me from breaking your nose . . . again. What's everybody else doing?"
Mercedes smiled. "Well, I'm planning on fun and sun! Nothing but relaxing. That's what summer is for." Mercedes loved the summer. It was probably her favorite season. There was no school, no tests to study for. The summer was hers. She would sleep late, hang out with her friends, and do everything else that she could think of associated with Summer. And this summer was going to be perfect.
She straightened her hat. Well, she didn't straighten it so much as make sure it was tilted fashionably to the side. She strutted over to Kurt and stood beside him, looking at everyone else. She motioned Rachel over to join them. The three divas needed to spend this last day together.

People just seemed to be popping in the room, one right after the other. It was nice to see that more people and come and that Finn could be spared Santana's wrath. Thank goodness of more people. It was nice to see everyone, especially to see that they aren't too hung up over that whole kiss thing. Finn smiled when Rachel walk in with her usual excited attitude. She was like a bright ball of happiness when she was excited. Santana then asked every one a good question:
"I'm planning on taking Brittany to the beach somewhere. It will be a nice vacation from this hell hole called Lima, Ohio. Well and it will keep me from breaking your nose . . . again. What's everybody else doing?"
That was a good question, because Finn only had one plan really in mind. "We'll as of right now I don't have much planned. But Burt is taking Kurt and I camping in a few weeks! This should be really fun!" Finn said excited to actually have a male bonding experience with Kurt and Burt. Though he was pretty sure Kurt wasn't as excited about it.

"I'm planning on taking Brittany to the beach somewhere. It will be a nice vacation from this hell hole called Lima, Ohio. Well and it will keep me from breaking your nose . . . again. What's everybody else doing?"
"Well, I'm planning on fun and sun! Nothing but relaxing. That's what summer is for."
Rachel rolled her eyes at Santana's comments and ignored the girl like she usually did. Seriously, did she ever have anything remotely nice to say? She must have never heard the phrase 'if you don't have something nice to say, don't say it at all.' But whatever. She wasn't going to let anything get her down. She smiled at Mercedes' summer plans. Rachel didn't agree that that was what summer was for. Her summers were always jam packed with auditioning for summer theatre and practicing as she did anything she could to get ahead and get better. No one became a Broadway star over night, you had to work for it and earn it. She was tempted to open her mouth to say something, but she didn't want to cause an argument right then.
"We'll as of right now I don't have much planned. But Burt is taking Kurt and I camping in a few weeks! This should be really fun!"
Camping? Finn hadn't told her anything about this. They had only just gotten back together, but Rachel definitely wanted to spend time with Finn this summer. "Camping? That sounds like fun. Doesn't really seem like your style though Kurt," she said, smiling a little, playfully joking. "But I have something to tell you guys that is just going to make your summer be the best summer of all time!" she said, beginning to get excited about the competition she had found out about from Wes and David, two of the Dalton Academy Warblers. She was about to go into more detail when -
"Hey guys! Last day before summer break. Who's excited?" Will Schuester said as he strolled into the choir room. It had been a truly amazing year and he had never been more proud of each and everyone of the kids in the glee club this year. The thought of the five of the original kids almost two years ago singing "Sit Down You're Rocking the Boat" seemed like ages ago. They had come so far and look at them now. They were 12th place National champions!
He watched the rest of the glee kids trickle into the room and looked over at Rachel. Oh boy. She had that look on her face like she wanted to ask something or announce it. He liked Rachel, he really did. It was just that sometimes she could be a little...intense. But, her talent was undeniable and the club would not be where it was today without her. "Rachel? Did you have something you wanted to say?" he asked a little hesitantly, wondering what it could be that the girl wanted to say.
Rachel grinned as Mr. Schuester walked in. Perfect. Now she would be able to announce the competition in from of everybody. They would be so proud of her for going out of her way and finding another competition they could use to prepare for Nationals next year. You could never be too prepared. "Yes I did," she said, strolling up to the front of the room so that everyone could see her. "Now I know we're all a little distressed that we didn't win Nationals like we should have and I know that we will be winning the competition next year, but what if we could get a leg up on the competition? I was in a record shop the other day in Westerville when I ran into two of the Warblers. They are apparently getting ready for a competition in California! So, I looked it up and sure enough, the Summer Spectacular Show Choir Competition is indeed happening this summer! Personally, I think it would be the best idea to submit ourselves into the competition ourselves. It will be a great way to get ready for Nationals. We can't let an opportunity like this go to waste!" she said, grinning. Surely her teammates would agree with her. "I would have already signed us up, but they needed a faculty adviser's information," she said to Mr. Schue. This was really going to be the best summer ever!

"But I have something to tell you guys that is just going to make your summer be the best summer of all time!"
Oh dear Lord have mercy, what in the world was Rachel going to tell them all to do? Now she loved Rachel. She had turned out to be one of Mercedes's best friends over the past couple of years. Which was amazing, considering they were both divas. But sweet Jesus she wanted her summer! Luckily Mr. Schue walked in and interrupted her. She smiled at her teacher.
"Hey guys! Last day before summer break. Who's excited?"
Well, that was a stupid question. They were all excited. She would miss Glee Club, of course. But she had another year to look forward to, so she wasn't too depressed about the whole thing. Just as the other glee kids were drifting into the room, she saw Mr. Schue look over at Rachel. Uh-oh. He'd noticed the look on her face. She secretly prayed that he wouldn't ask her if she wanted to say something.
"Rachel? Did you have something you wanted to say?"
Well, crap. Way to go Mr. Schue. She watched as Rachel walked up to the front of the room. Excitement was literally coming out of her. Again, she really did like Rachel. But sometimes the girl was a little intense.
Personally, I think it would be the best idea to submit ourselves into the competition ourselves. It will be a great way to get ready for Nationals. We can't let an opportunity like this go to waste!"
Mercedes's jaw dropped a little. She'd forgotten how much Rachel could talk. It took a moment for her to realize what she said. A summer competition in California? Well, she would love to go to California, but not for a show choir competition. That would definitely cut in to her getting her swim on. Not to mention, more time with the club, meant less alone time with Sam.
"I would have already signed us up, but they needed a faculty adviser's information."
Well, thank goodness for that. However, Mr. Schue would absolutely love a competition in the summer. More practice for Nationals. Well, she guessed that was a good thing. She did really want to win Nationals next year. And she knew everyone else did too. She sighed inwardly. Well, fine. She would do this competition and extra rehearsals, even though it would definitely cut into her "me" time. She would just have to relax after the competition.
