Well most of the key people were already at the lake foregoing Kurt. Well I have to run to my car. My mom made some homemade guacamole, salsa and chips for this pow wow. Brittany you wanna come with me to get my ice chest? There was nothing like her mom's fresh guac and salsa to get a summer party started. Not to mention Britt in a bikini was always something to look forward to. Now all there was left to do was get everything set up and wait for the rest of the group.

"Well I have to run to my car. My mom made some homemade guacamole, salsa and chips for this pow wow. Brittany you wanna come with me to get my ice chest?"
Brittany smiled and bounced on her toes. Santana's mom's guacamole and salsa was the best. Even though Brittany had no idea what it was, and she usually called it the "gloopy stuff" she loved it. It was awesome. Brittany even clapped her hands a little. "Yes, I do!"
She walked up to Santana and waited for her to lead the way. Brittany would get lost, because she always did. But that was okay now that Santana was here. Santana would make sure Brittany always stayed up with what was going on and made sure no one made fun of her if she misunderstood something. It was great having her around. She knew that Santana was still in her "beard" relationship with Karofsky, but Brittany hoped soon that it would end. That way she and Santana could really be together.

Kurt pulled into a parking space and shut the engine off. She looked over at Blaine and smiled. It's true that this party was organized by Rachel, and the last all New Directions party she organized was horrible. Everyone had gotten drunk, except for Finn and himself. And Blaine and Rachel shared a kiss that made Blaine question his sexuality. But Blaine was over that now, and he and Kurt were dating. It was amazing. He knew the glee club wouldn't mind him bringing the Warbler along. They all understood what Kurt went through, and they knew Blaine was a big part of him feeling better.
Kurt got out of the car and grabbed the picnic basket and blanket, for him and Blaine to share of course. He took Blaine's hand and strolled over to where the rest of New Directions was gathered. Almost everyone was here. Even Santana, which surprised him a little. He smiled as he approached them all. "Okay everyone. You can stop panicking. I'm here."

Well it certainly looked like a good number of people had already shown up. It was kinda sad though, everyone on that had shown up thus far was...well girls. Not that he had a problem with that, he loved the girls. Well most of them. He loved Rachel of course cause she is ya know his girl friend. And Brittney could always brighten room just by walking in. Mercedes was never afraid to tall you how it his but her attitude and passion were the best parts about her. Then there is Santana...She is something that's for sure. But she's a key member of the team and she did go all of that way just to help Kurt and he will always be grateful for that.
"Okay everyone. You can stop panicking. I'm here."
"Hey Kurt! Glad your here! Hey Blaine!" He said to seeing them coming hands a lock. He got close and whispered to Kurt. "Did you bring any of your awesome cupcakes?" Finn knew how well Kurt could bake and he knew that everyone would love his cup cakes. Though if everyone knew Kurt could bake then he and Blaine would lose the best kept secret ever!! "I mean its cool if you left them or didn't make anything though." Finn said kinda hoping that was the case.

Blaine smiled over at his boyfriend as they parked the car. He was happy that he was going to get to spend the majority of his summer with Kurt. Blaine had driven over to the Hudmel house to help Kurt decide on an outfit and to help him pack up the food he made for the New Directions party. Blaine wasn't a part of the glee club, but Kurt invited him as his plus one. He was happy to spend anytime with Kurt and he liked hanging out with New Directions. He had made friends with a few of them like Finn, Rachel, Mercedes and Brittany. He liked hanging around the club. It was a different dynamic than the Warblers, but he knew they were Kurt's family just like the Warblers were Blaine's. He was just hoping Puck didn't decide to bring alcohol. Bad things tended to happen when alcohol was involved.
He leaned over and kissed Kurt briefly before getting out of the car. Blaine loved that he could just lean over and kiss him whenever he wanted. He had thought about doing that a lot since they had started dating, but he didn't want to jump into things or take things too fast. They were both new to this 'boyfriend' thing after all. He smiled back at Kurt and gave his hand a squeeze as they walked over towards the group.
"Okay everyone. You can stop panicking. I'm here."
He laughed a little at that. Kurt really was a diva. But it was one of the things that made Kurt, Kurt. "Hey guys. How's everything going? Everyone having fun?" he asked, smiling a bit. Blaine had on a blue plaid pair of swim trunks and a matching t-shirt and hadn't bothered to gel his hair down today because it was just going to get wet anyways. His unruly hair kind of had a ind of its own sometimes. It's why he liked to gel it down while he was in his Dalton uniform.

"Did you bring any of your awesome cupcakes? I mean its cool if you left them or didn't make anything though."
Cupcakes? Finn wanted cupcakes? If Finn wanted cupcakes he should have just said so. Otherwise Kurt wouldn't have spent so much time making the healthy cookies that tasted exactly like the unhealthy cookies. Of course something like that probably would have happened anyway. Last night he had tried to write more of "Pip Pip Hooray!" and it hadn't gone very well. Kurt was a stress baker. It worked out that he had a cookout the very next day. Either way, Kurt was giving Finn his special look that most of the time he reserved just for him. It was a cross between a "Did you really just say that?" and "You should have just said so" look. Kurt was quite good at it.
"No, I'm sorry Finn. Maybe next time you see me baking you should actually make a request instead of thinking I can read your mind." Kurt uncovered his basket and revealed his cookies to the group. "I brought cookies!" No need to tell people they were healthy. If he did that no one would eat them. And then where would he be? Stuck with a bunch of cookies. Okay, so that wasn't very clever. His mind was still a little dazed from the kiss Blaine had given him in the car.

Oh thank the lord! The cupcake secret is safe! He and Blaine made it alright and that was good. For a second there it looked like Finn would be the only guy around. He was really happy to see Kurt was actually here and excited to do this. For some reason it never really seemed like a cook out was his thing. So with Kurt and Blaine here that made seven people so far. Seemed like more then enough to have a good time.
"I brought cookies!"
Finn smiled. Kurt cookies were awesome! He was sure everyone would love them. The rest of the people here would have to pull out all of the stops to keep up with Kurt. "Just as good!" He reached down to grab one.

"Okay everyone. You can stop panicking. I'm here."
"Hey guys. How's everything going? Everyone having fun?"
Rachel put down her bag and grinned when she saw the new arrivals. "Kurt! Blaine! You're here!" she said rushing over to them. "I'm glad you guys made it! This is going to be so much fun!" she said, grinning. Kurt was one of her best friends and also a fellow diva. She was always happy to see him. And she really liked Blaine. They had a lot of common since they were both the soloists of their respective glee clubs. That and they had great vocal chemistry when they sang together.
"Did you bring any of your awesome cupcakes? I mean its cool if you left them or didn't make anything though."
"No, I'm sorry Finn. Maybe next time you see me baking you should actually make a request instead of thinking I can read your mind. I brought cookies!"
"Just as good!"
Rachel rolled her eyes a little at Finn's excitement. They were just cookies. She made special sugar cookies every year at Christmas time to take to all the shelters. She had considered making a batch of them for today, but now was glad that she had decided against it. "So, I claimed a spot right over there where we can all set up," she said, gesturing to the area where she had set down her bag. She hoped this party would be fun. The last party she had had was a ton of fun, but there was alcohol involved that time. Considering this one was alcohol-free, she hoped they would still be able to have fun.

Blaine laughed a little at the exchange between the two brothers. He was over at the Hudmel house a lot, so this was nothing new to him. Blaine loved sweets just as much as Finn did, but he didn't constantly ask his boyfriend to make them. He would definitely be having a few of those cookies later though.
"Kurt! Blaine! You're here! I'm glad you guys made it! This is going to be so much fun! So, I claimed a spot right over there where we can all set up,"
He smiled at Rachel as she greeted them. "Hey Rachel. It looks like a great spot to me. Plenty of picnic space and it's close enough to the water," he said, smiling. He was excited to get to spend the day with Kurt and his friends. Between the good food, the water, the fireworks, and just the chance to be with Kurt, this was going to be a truly amazing day.

Mercedes grinned when she saw that Kurt and Blaine had arrived. She was so glad her best friend was there, and that he brought his boyfriend along. They were so good together. She laughed as she listened to the step-brothers exchange. Finn and Kurt seemed more and more like brothers every day. They bickered like them. Well, they bickered like a brother and a sister. But that made sense because Kurt was an honorary girl, after all.
"Hey Rachel. It looks like a great spot to me. Plenty of picnic space and it's close enough to the water."
She looked in the direction that Rachel pointed and spotted her bag. It looked perfect. Blaine was right. It was just close enough to the water. And there was a lot of space for all of New Directions to be able to sit, talk, and laugh. "It also looks like a great place to watch the fireworks." Mercedes hoped Sam got here soon. It would be great and very romantic to watch the fireworks with him. Of course, no one in New Directions knew they were together. So they couldn't hold hands or anything. But that was okay. They could do that later.

"Just as good!"
Kurt rolled his eyes and let Finn grab as many cookies as he wanted. He made sure, of course, that there were still plenty left for the rest of New Directions. Finn was like a cookie monster. Seriously. It was a little crazy.
"Kurt! Blaine! You're here! I'm glad you guys made it! This is going to be so much fun! So, I claimed a spot right over there where we can all set up."
Kurt looked in the direction and saw where it was. The spot looked great. Blaine and Mercedes thought so too. Kurt was glad that he brought his umbrella to sit under. His skin burned so easily and red was not his color. He had a sneaky feeling that Blaine wouldn't let him stay hidden under his umbrella though. So it was also good that he brought sunscreen. He guessed others would need some as well. Like possibly Brittany. The poor girl wouldn't even have been able to find her head in the morning if it wasn't attached. Maybe she still had trouble even then.
Regardless Kurt smiled and started walking to the spot. "Looks great Rachel! Let's start setting up." He laid out his blanket and put up his umbrella. Yes. He was very, very glad he'd remembered to grab it. Although Mercedes was right. This was a perfect spot to watch the fireworks.

Santana could see that Kurt and Blain had arrived but at the moment she was in no hurry to get back to the group. She had finally found some time alone with Brittany and was not going to cut it any shorter than she had to. Other than the food she had towels and a couple of sun chairs for her and Britt
So are you excited to watch the fireworks tonight Brittany? I think it would be so nice to have someone special to cuddle with While watching them. Santana was hoping that the sexy blond would catch the hint that she had just dropped. But even if she didn't it probably wouldn't be too hard to scoot up to her anyway. I think that would be my favorite part of the night. How about you?

Everyone was setting up the guessed it was time for him to get set up too. He grabbed the charcoal he had brought with him and walked up to one of the near by grills. He put the charcoal in the grill and lit it. The grabbed one if the paper plates Rachel had brought, put on gloves and proceeded to make patties on it. "So how does everyone want their burger?"
The then pulled out a special wrapped package. "You can eat soy burgers right Rachel?" He then looked at Kurt. "How about you Kurt?"

Rachel grinned as the group complimented her spot selection. She knew it was a good spot. Perfect for their little glee club. She began unpacking various snacks. Most of them were vegan, but there was also watermelon and other fruit and stuff.
"So how does everyone want their burger? You can eat soy burgers right Rachel?"
She smiled back at her boyfriend, happy that he remembered that she was a vegan. It was really sweet and thoughtful. "Yes I can. That sounds wonderful," she said with a grin. This was really going to be the best picnic ever.

Blaine smiled at Mercedes as the girl commented on the location spot. Blaine wasn't that close with a lot of New Directions besides Kurt. He knew Finn because he was over at his house all of the time because he was kind of Kurt's brother. Rachel and Mercedes were the other two members of the club that he knew the best. The girls were two of his boyfriend's best friends, so it only made sense that he had hung out with them more than the other members.
Kurt began setting up his umbrella that he brought. Blaine still thought it was kind of ridiculous. Okay, maybe it would be nice to sit in the shade while they ate lunch, but they could go find a shady tree or something. He understood that Kurt didn't want to get sunburned, but that was what sunblock was for. "You know you could just put sunblock on instead of sitting under this umbrella right?" he asked Kurt as he went to help him set up. Blaine hoped the Kurt wasn't going to just sit under the umbrella all day. He hoped that he could get Kurt to at least get in the water for a little bit, but he wasn't sure if that was going to happen or not. He knew Kurt took pride in his porcelain skin and didn't want to risk it getting damaged by the sun. Blaine would just have to go back and forth between the water and his boyfriend with the perfect skin. He could do that.
