Personality:
Being the only girl of two brothers, Rylee knows how to take care of herself. However, you would not see her tough side over her sweet and quiet exterior. Rylee is the type of girl who stands up for what she believes in and stands by her friends even if they are wrong. She is very trusting once you show her that you deserve that trust, and if you break that trust it is very hard to get her to trust you again. Though she is more of a follower than a leader, she is quite firey and is not afraid to speak her mind. She also knows the value of hard work and hates anyone who thinks they are better than her because they were born with a silver spoon. She is a lover, not a fighter and avoids confrontation at all costs. She also tends to keep things bottled up, letting music and writing be her outlets rather than dumping her problems onto her friends.
History:
Rylee is a country bumpkin who grew up on a farm with her mother, father, and two brothers. Growing up, she was taught the values of a hard days work and learned how to stand up for herself with all her brother’s teasing. Life wasn’t “easy” per se because the farm was hard work, but the family loved each other and things were pleasant.
However, when her mother became very ill and died things got too hard, and her family had to sell the farm and move. They found themselves in Lima, Ohio. Her brothers enrolled in a public high school, and Rylee in public middle school. She did not quite find her niche in Middle School, just a love for music, a few friends in the chorus class, and a crush on a band nerd named Peter Johnson. She and Peter shared the same love for music and he taught her how to play the flute. Unfortunately, music was the only thing they had in common and by the end of Middle School they had grown apart. Though, fearing his reaction, Rylee did not officially break off their relationship until the end of the summer before their freshman year.
Her dad, having established himself in the business world by this time, decided to send Rylee off to a private school for her High School career and she found herself at Crawford. There, she discovered the Larks, and joined without a second thought. She quickly made friends with the girls in the Larks, includng Amber and her boyfriend Conner, and lived a happy High School life, looking forward to her Senior year.
Short rp Sample
Rylee walked down the crowded hallways of Crawford, notebooks firmly under her arm. Already, she was hoping to skip the day and go straight to practice, even though the lunch bell had sounded and the day was already half over. Singing would get her mind off things. Especially what was about to come. She made her way to the parking lot, where her boyfriend sat on the hood of his car in his usual parking space. He had a blank look on his face as he waved at her, and Rylee realized she did too as she waved back.
Their lunchtime meetings, and all their other meetings, had become so mechanical that they barely seemed like a couple anymore. Rylee knew she had to do something, but she hated herself for doing it. Se walked over, giving him his usual hug before the words came tumbling out so fast she was surprised to hear herself saying them.
”This isn’t working anymore is it?” she asked, her voice level. He didn’t talk, just looked away, as if he was thinking the same thing but never had the heart to tell her. She nodded ”It’s okay. We tried right?” she said with a smile. He smiled back and answered with a simple “Yeah.” She sighed and said as cheerfully as she could manage, “See you around then I guess.” before hugging him one more time and watching him drive away.
She skipped lunch, instead spending it in the music room, pouring all of her bottled up grief into her flute and letting the music carry all her troubles away…
