Finn drove steadily down the read on his way to the park with the lovely Rachel Berry. He was really excited to being going the park with the park for their picnic. It was the first real date they were having after they had gotten together. They both had been so busy between the Talent show and the upcoming show with the Warblers. It was nice to take some time off and spend it with her. He pulled into the the parking space of the park. "Ready to go?"

Rachel was excited. She was going on a picnic, a real date with her boyfriend. Yeah she had been dating Finn off and on for the past two years, but Rachel had always loved him. Even when he was dating Quinn when he thought he was the father oh her baby (who was now technically Rachel's stepsister which was still a little weird but wonderful at the same time) and when she had dated Jesse. She even still liked him after she found out he had slept with Santana, but she had been extremely hurt by it. She had tried time and time and again to get him back, and was ready to move on, not trying to win him over anymore even though she knew she would love him (it was very Fanny Brice in Funny Girl which made the song "My Man" even more perfect) but Finn had figured out that he really wanted to be with her. Rachel had been hesitant at first, and still was a little bit because she was going to New York and she wasn't sure if that's what Finn wanted for himself. She didn't want to hold Finn back from anything. He was a talented singer and Quarterback and he needed to go where he would shine. Just like how Rachel was going to New York to one day see her name up in lights.
But as Finn had said, there was a long way to go before graduation. Who knew what could happen in a year? So, Finchel was back on. Rachel had packed up a healthy lunch (she had put in extra sweets and such into the basket because she knew Finn liked them). She would have packed fatty foods like Finn liked, but they didn't really have any of that in her house. Her and her dads were all vegans and tried to eat as healthy as possible. But, she thought it was a good lunch. She hoped Finn would like it. He picked her up and he drove to the park.
"Ready to go?"
She grinned back at him. "Yes I am. Today's going to be so much fun! And we get to spend time together just us!" she smiled at him as she got out of his truck. es, today was going to be a good day. She could feel it.

"Yes I am. Today's going to be so much fun! And we get to spend time together just us!"
That sounded so good. He was happy to be able to spend the day with her and just forget about the world for the next few hours. He and Quinn had never done anything nice like that. I mean they spent time by themselves but they were just making out or listening to Quinn plan something or another. There was really nothing special about the time he had spent with Quinn. Luckily it was special with Rachel. He picked up their picnic basket, and pulled her close as they walked. "Nothing I would rather do."
