"And I would so find a way to get in. Your mom loves me. And if she wasn't home, I'd climb through a window or something. Or David could let me in."
David smirked back at Blaine. David probably would let him in, just to annoy Wes. It would be pretty funny. It was great to think about, even if it would never happen. And David knew that. It was just great to annoy Wes.
"It's true. It's hard not being able to see Jo everyday, but we make it work. I'm sure you and Kurt can do the same thing."
"You're right. God, I must sound pretty pathetic. Sorry guys. But in my defense, McKinley is farther away than Crawford is..."
Well, that was certainly true. Crawford Country Day is at least close by. McKinley is about 2 hours away, as the Warblers all found out when they went to sing Kurt goodbye when he transferred back. David supposed it would be harder to deal with if you got to see someone everyday, and then suddenly you couldn't.
"I like that plan. Everyone wins this way."
"I think I can do that. I don't have to be texting him all the time."
David shot a glance at Wes. Yeah. Blaine didn't have to text Kurt all the time, he just enjoyed it. Well, at least he was going for the plan. It seemed like it would work. Which was a good thing. Great for everyone. "Good. Now you can start leading by example again."

Well I am gay. It shouldn't be that surprising, And I would so find a way to get in. Your mom loves me. And if she wasn't home, I'd climb through a window or something. Or David could let me in,"
Wes rolled his eyes at his friends. A Katy Perry protest would never happen in his house. But, it was amusing to think about. The picture evidence alone would be worth the whole ordeal. Maybe it wasn't such a bad idea...He quickly shook that thought away, knowing Blaine wouldn't have the energy to stage something that elaborate. Not something that silly anyways. And it was true, his mother had fallen for Blaine's charm, and David would most likely just let Blaine in to annoy him even more. "Fine. I'll remove the Katy Perry ban. But that doesn't mean we're going to listen to her music at this party Anderson," he said, looking at Blaine. He wondered if he should go get his gavel to make it official.
"You're right. God, I must sound pretty pathetic. Sorry guys. But in my defense, McKinley is farther away than Crawford is..."
That was true technically. And he sympathized with Blaine, really he did. But, this competition came first. He would still get to see Kurt while they were in California. "Yes Blaine. We know. You've only told us like a million times and we've even driven there ourselves remember?" he said, laughing a little. Blaine really was pathetic. It was sick to watch sometimes. And if Blaine was going to text Kurt all night at the sleepover, Wes was going to take the phone away from him. Probably. Okay, so he hadn't decided yet. He would see how the night went.
"I think I can do that. I don't have to be texting him all the time,"
"Good. Now you can start leading by example again."
Wes nodded at David, agreeing with him. It was true, a lot of the Warblers looked up to Blaine, especially the younger members of the club. They couldn't just let Blaine slack off because he had a boyfriend now.

"Fine. I'll remove the Katy Perry ban. But that doesn't mean we're going to listen to her music at this party Anderson,"
Success! Katy Perry was not banned from Wes' house! He should text Kurt about this. Wes and David never said he couldn't text Kurt at sleepovers. Just at Warblers rehearsals. He laughed at Wes and pulled out his phone, typing a quick text to Kurt. "Fine, fine. So, what ideas do you guys have for the competition? I know you guys have ideas already," he said, smiling. He would have to sneak Katy Perry music into the party later. Maybe he could make it look like David or even Wes picked the song.
"Yes Blaine. We know. You've only told us like a million times and we've even driven there ourselves remember?"
Blaine sighed and shook his head a little. Was he really that bad? No, he couldn't be. He just missed Kurt . He should have friends that were sympathetic to his woes, but no, his friends preferred to make fun at him. But that was okay. Blaine did the same thing to them. "Yeah, yeah okay. I get it. I'll try to stop talking about Kurt as much." That would be hard. But he did say the word 'try.'
"Good. Now you can start leading by example again."
He chuckled a little at that. Blaine knew that a lot of the younger member of the Warblers looked up to him. They were like little brothers. Blaine was an only child, so he loved that he could consider the Warblers as another family. Especially because he didn't like being around his family all that much unless he had to. "Don't worry. I'll be the 'perfect Warbler' at rehearsals so the others won't get any radical ideas about texting all the time or about blue piping on our blazers," he said jokingly. He wasn't going to let the council down. He wasn't as competitive as Wes and David were, but that didn't mean that he wasn't going to slack off. The Warblers were counting on him to lead them in the competition.

"Fine, fine. So, what ideas do you guys have for the competition? I know you guys have ideas already."
David smirked. They had been discussing the competition some. But what he was really excited for was the benefit concert with New Directions. Wes agreed that they could finally do N'sync! This was huge. "Well we've been thinking Beach Boys or something like that for the competition," David said with a dismissal wave of his hand. "But what you should really be excited about is the song for the benefit concert with New Directions. We'll be doing "It's Gonna Be Me" by N'Sync, with some fly moves choreographed by Yours Truly. Heh." David did a spin in the middle of the floor when he said the word 'fly.' He really was the coolest Warbler, at least he thought so.
"Yeah, yeah okay. I get it. I'll try to stop talking about Kurt as much."
Yeah, like that would ever happen. David laughed out loud at that. He would believe it when he saw it. But at least the boy said he would try. David gave him credit for that much anyway.
"Don't worry. I'll be the 'perfect Warbler' at rehearsals so the others won't get any radical ideas about texting all the time or about blue piping on our blazers."
Well, thank goodness for that. The last time Blaine suggested something like that, the whole meeting went crazy. Seriously, it was a terrible idea. What was he thinking? Blue piping... David had been serious when he said "Why don't we just play it on kazoos?" They might as well have been if they went with Blaine's insane idea. The Warblers were about tradition. And no one knew that better than the Warbler's historian.

Wes rolled his eyes at both of his friends. Blaine was texting Kurt again and David was already talking about N'Sync. But, he supposed the N'Sync thing was kind of his fault. He did tell David they could do it for the joint concert with New Directions. "Yes. Beach Boys would be an excellent way to showcase the Warblers' harmonies. And the music captures the beach feel," he looked over at David dancing and shook his head. He was regretting this already. "Yeah, the N'Sync thing too. So David can stop complaining about how we've sang Katy Perry but not his favorite group," he said, shaking his head a bit as he watched David. He hoped Blaine would be able to be taught the choreography. He wasn't the worst dancer ever, but he could definitely use a little work.
"Yeah, yeah okay. I get it. I'll try to stop talking about Kurt as much."
Ha. Yeah okay. He would believe that when he saw it. He was already texting Kurt at this party. Maybe they really need to surgically remove his phone from his hand...
"Don't worry. I'll be the 'perfect Warbler' at rehearsals so the others won't get any radical ideas about texting all the time or about blue piping on our blazers."
If Thad was here, he probably would have thrown in a 'You mock us sir!' to that. And then hadn't Trent mentioned something about a kangaroo court? Wes definitely needed his gavel for that meeting. The usually calm room had turned into almost complete chaos. "Let's not bring that up again. We are not making any changes to our blazers. I thought you liked the blazer?" he said jokingly to Blaine.

Blaine laughed a little at his friends. All three of them joked around with each other all of the time but they were all there for each other whenever they needed it. Blaine was lucky to have such good friends like them. "That sounds awesome David! You've been wanting to sing N'Sync for forever!" It was true. He was pretty sure David had wanted to sing N'Sync ever since he joined the Warblers. And David had been a Warbler even before Blaine had transferred to Dalton. "And the Beach Boys thing is cool too. I think everyone would fit really well with those songs. Not to mention their music is really catchy and everyone knows the Beach Boys," he said smiling a little. People loved The Beach Boys. They were sure to be a favorite of the crowd and the judges.
"Let's not bring that up again. We are not making any changes to our blazers. I thought you liked the blazer?"
He chuckled a little, amused that the Warblers took the blazers so seriously. Yes, they were tradition and represented their school and they looked really good wearing them, but they could be changed a little for competition at least. But, maybe the Warblers weren't ready for that much change. "I love the blazer. And I still the it would benefit us to have blue piping, but I won't bring it up in a meeting again," he said, smirking. He really didn't want to be the cause of anarchy in a Warbler's rehearsal again.

"That sounds awesome David! You've been wanting to sing N'Sync for forever!"
David grinned and whooped. He'd been waiting to sing N'Sync since he first entered the Warblers. He'd hoped that by being on the council his word would have more weight. But that didn't happen until just a little while ago. Wes finally agreed! "I know! It's finally happening!"
"And the Beach Boys thing is cool too. I think everyone would fit really well with those songs. Not to mention their music is really catchy and everyone knows the Beach Boys."
It would definitely be a crowd favorite. He hoped it would please the judges too. If everyone loved them, it would help with the judges decision. True, being the crowd favorite wasn't an automatic win. But it couldn't hurt either.
"Let's not bring that up again. We are not making any changes to our blazers. I thought you liked the blazer?"
"I love the blazer. And I still the it would benefit us to have blue piping, but I won't bring it up in a meeting again"
David rolled his eyes. Blue piping. Worst idea ever. Blaine needed a history lesson, fast. "Listen, Blaine, the Warblers have always worn our uniforms for competitions. It's tradition. And the Warblers are all about tradition. History is very important." He really believed in the last part. David was going to be a history major once high school was done. He considered it an honor to be the Warbler's historian.

"That sounds awesome David! You've been wanting to sing N'Sync for forever!"
"I know! It's finally happening!"
Wes sighed and shook his head a little at the sight of the two boys he called friends. They were really rubbing in this N'Sync thing. And he knew they were doing it on purpose. They could be so annoying sometimes when they teamed up together like this. But, he knew David was excited, so that was good. He could put up with performing one N'Sync song for his friend. "Just as long as it blows whatever song New Directions does out of the water," he said, smirking. This summer was going to belong to the Warblers.
"And the Beach Boys thing is cool too. I think everyone would fit really well with those songs. Not to mention their music is really catchy and everyone knows the Beach Boys."
"Exactly," Wes said, nodding his head. "It's sure to put the judges in a better mood after all the other mediocre choirs they see. And with you as lead, those judges will be eating out of our hands." It was true. Blaine had so much charisma when he was performing. He sort of lit up and made his performance look effortless. He might not be the best dancer, but what he lacked in dancing, he made up with how he could connect with an audience. "Of course we haven't decided on which songs we're singing yet so we don't know how many soloists we will need, but judging by how auditions went last time, you will probably get a solo or two," he said, smiling a little. All of the Warblers were great singers, but Blaine knew how to work an audience. Even when they performed at nursing homes, Blaine charmed the old ladies.
"I love the blazer. And I still think it would benefit us to have blue piping, but I won't bring it up in a meeting again"
"Listen, Blaine, the Warblers have always worn our uniforms for competitions. It's tradition. And the Warblers are all about tradition. History is very important."
Ugh, here we go again. "We are not going to change our blazers for a performance. I think you've been hanging around your boyfriend too long. His urge to change the rules and change our uniforms is wearing off on you," he said jokingly, laughing a little. It wasn't completely true of course. If anything, Kurt Hummel had made the Warblers a better team from the few short months when he had been at Dalton. They were extremely lucky to have had the countertenor with them for as long as they did.

Blaine grinned and laughed along with David. He was excited for his friend. It was a really great feeling when you got to sing a song that you love. "Teenage Dream" was still one of his favorite songs that he had ever sang. Of course, the song now would forever remind him of a smiling boy with eyes the color of the ocean who had perfectly coiffed and porcelain skin. And Blaine was absolutely and utterly okay with that.
"Just as long as it blows whatever song New Directions does out of the water,"
Blaine chuckled a little at Wes and David, amused that they took these competition things so seriously. Blaine liked performing and would take that seriously, but it didn't really matter to him who won. Yeah it would be amazing to get the chance to lead the Warblers to victory, but if they won, then that would mean New Directions would loose, and he knew how disappointed Kurt was when the Warblers lost Regionals to New Directions. So, Blaine would lead the Warblers to the best of his ability and cheer on his boyfriend and New Directions. He would leave the decision in the hands of the judges.
"Exactly, It's sure to put the judges in a better mood after all the other mediocre choirs they see. And with you as lead, those judges will be eating out of our hands. Of course we haven't decided on which songs we're singing yet so we don't know how many soloists we will need, but judging by how auditions went last time, you will probably get a solo or two,"
He laughed a bit at Wes' certainty. He was honored that the Warblers had that much faith in him to lead the acapella group. And judging by the amount of solos he had gotten this year, he knew the council was going to give him at least one solo, possibly even more. "I'm sure I will. I think David needs to get some kind of solo in the N'Sync number though," he said, smiling over at David. He deserved to sing a solo if he finally got to sing a song by his favorite artist.
"Listen, Blaine, the Warblers have always worn our uniforms for competitions. It's tradition. And the Warblers are all about tradition. History is very important."
"We are not going to change our blazers for a performance. I think you've been hanging around your boyfriend too long. His urge to change the rules and change our uniforms is wearing off on you,"
Blaine sighed and shook his head. Wes and David could be really uptight sometimes when it came to Warblers traditions. "Yeah, yeah okay. We're not changing the uniforms. I get it. And Kurt would design an absolutely amazing uniform and you know it," he said, grinning about thinking of what Kurt would design if he had the chance. Blaine knew that Kurt sometimes made his own clothes. He made his prom ensemble by himself and he had looked absolutely stunning.

"I'm sure I will. I think David needs to get some kind of solo in the N'Sync number though."
David slowly grinned over at Blaine. David really did want a solo in the N'Sync number. And the fact that Blaine recommended it was even better. As much as he made fun of Blaine, he really did respect him. If Blaine said that David deserved a solo, then maybe he'd get one. After all, the council had let Blaine do a duet with Kurt without even auditioning anyone. If Blaine recommended something, the council generally listened. "Thanks, man," David said as he reached over to pound fists with the boy.
"Yeah, yeah okay. We're not changing the uniforms. I get it. And Kurt would design an absolutely amazing uniform and you know it."
Ah, Kurt. David wondered when they would get back to him. Blaine always mentioned him. That wasn't necessarily a bad thing. It could get annoying, especially when Blaine was mopey. However that wasn't the case now. "Yes, Blaine. We know. Kurt's amazing at designing clothes. But I have to confess, I'd be a little scared to see what he'd come up with for us." He'd seen some of what Kurt liked to wear. They weren't really the Warblers style.

"I'm sure I will. I think David needs to get some kind of solo in the N'Sync number though."
Wes nodded. He could get behind that idea. After all, it was David that had wanted to sing the song. Of course they would have to hold auditions and couldn't just give David a solo, but he was pretty sure the rest of the Warblers would want David to take the solo anyways. He only talked about the the boy band all the time, so they all knew about David's slight obsession with them. "I wouldn't be opposed to that. Especially if it gets you to stop talking about them 24/7," he said, laughing a little.
"Yeah, yeah okay. We're not changing the uniforms. I get it. And Kurt would design an absolutely amazing uniform and you know it."
"Yes, Blaine. We know. Kurt's amazing at designing clothes. But I have to confess, I'd be a little scared to see what he'd come up with for us."
Ugh. No. No. They had been over this. They were not changing the uniform. No matter how good of a designer Kurt was. "I agree. Didn't he mention something about bird feathers once? We are not wearing feathers Blaine. None of us but Kurt can rock that look and Kurt doesn't go to Dalton anymore," he said, with a sigh, shaking his head. He was sure some of Kurt's designs were amazing. But the Warblers could just not pull them off. Especially not for a competition.

"I wouldn't be opposed to that. Especially if it gets you to stop talking about them 24/7,"
Blaine laughed at that. It was true, everyone did know that David loved N'Sync. He was sure the rest of the Warblers would want David to sing the solo just like Wes and himself wanted him to. And plus, David would totally rock the song. Blaine knew that David would make up some killer choreography as well. He was one of the best dancers the Warblers had.
"Yes, Blaine. We know. Kurt's amazing at designing clothes. But I have to confess, I'd be a little scared to see what he'd come up with for us."
"I agree. Didn't he mention something about bird feathers once? We are not wearing feathers Blaine. None of us but Kurt can rock that look and Kurt doesn't go to Dalton anymore,"
Feathers? Wait...he did vaguely remember Kurt saying something about when he had first transferred to Dalton. Blaine hadn't really taken that seriously though. Yeah they were named after birds, but that didn't mean their uniforms had to reflect that. And Blaine didn't think he could pull off that look either. Kurt would. He could make a brown potato sack look fashionable. "I don't think he was being serious about that. At least I hope not. I mean he does have the ability to know what looks best on people, but I think I draw the line at feathers..." he said laughing a little. He made a mental note to ask Kurt about if he had any plans for Warbler's uniforms with feathers adorned on them. He really hoped Kurt had been joking back then...

"I wouldn't be opposed to that. Especially if it gets you to stop talking about them 24/7."
David laughed and said, "Yeah, well we'll just see about that." One look at Wes's face told him that he was joking, but not completely. "I mean, y-yeah, sure it will..." he quickly amended. He supposed he could lay off talking about the group now that they were finally going to do one of their songs. And better yet, David was going to get a solo! It was like a dream come true. Yeah, they weren't doing it at the competition. But they didn't do Katy Perry at a competition either. So, it was still all fair.
"I agree. Didn't he mention something about bird feathers once? We are not wearing feathers Blaine. None of us but Kurt can rock that look and Kurt doesn't go to Dalton anymore."
"I don't think he was being serious about that. At least I hope not. I mean he does have the ability to know what looks best on people, but I think I draw the line at feathers..."
Well, at least they were all agreed that feathers was a bad idea for the Warblers. Yeah, their group was named after a bird, but that didn't mean they had to look like birds. They just had to sing like them. And sing they did. David's mother once told him that they all sang like angelic birds. David had just laughed at that and said thanks. Then he told Wes, who wondered why they didn't win more competitions if they sounded like that. David told Wes to just take the compliment. "I think we all draw the line at feathers. And the historians final word is, we look great. Don't change what works, right Wes?"
