He can be very vulnerable and regrets not being able to stand up for himself when he was bullied in high school.
History:
Blaine Anderson was born to his parents in Ohio. His parents had plenty of money, but weren't overly rich. He had a fairly normal childhood with parents that loved him. He had always enjoyed singing and learned to play the piano and the guitar. In high school as his friends were getting girlfriends, he realized that he was different. He wasn't attracted to girls at all. He actually thought boys were more attractive and that he was gay. Blaine came out to his parents, and while they still loved him, it was apparent that they didn't fully accept him. One summer, Blaine's father worked on a car with him, thinking that it might turn him straight.
Blaine asked a friend of his named Alex to go to the Sadie Hawkin's dance at their school. He was the only other gay kid at school. They went to the dance and had fun, but afterwards when they were waiting for Alex's dad to pick them up, things turned for the worse. Three guys came over and started beating the crap out of them for being gay. After a trip to the emergency room, Blaine and his parents decided it was best that he transfer schools. Dalton Academy had a zero tolerance harassment policy and he would be safe there. He was a little nervous about being in a new school and he was nervous about coming out and getting beaten up again. He met Wes Montgomery and David Thompson and quickly became friends with them. He grew more confident with himself and came out, but this time instead of being beaten, he was accepted for being himself. One day, Wes and David heard him playing his guitar and singing. They got him to audition for the Warblers, and he has been a member ever since.
During his junior year, the Warblers decided to put on another impromptu performance. As he was coming down the staircase, he was stopped by a boy that he had never seen before. He wasn't wearing a uniform and introduced himself as Kurt. He said he was new to the school, so Blaine told him about the Warbler's performance, took his hand and led him to the common room. The Warblers sang "Teenage Dream," and Blaine may have played that song on repeat for a while after meeting Kurt.
The Wablers and Blaine figured that Kurt hadn't really transferred to Dalton. He was a spy from McKinley High's glee club. Kurt told Blaine that he was getting bullied in school and that no one seemed to notice. Blaine told him he could run away from his bullies like he did, or he could confront them about it. They swap cell numbers and Blaine sends Kurt the message 'Courage' in order for Kurt to stay strong against the bullying and so that he knew that someone was there for him who understood what he was going through. Kurt called Blaine and told him that the bully that was harassing him, Karofsky forcibly kissed him. Blaine offered to help Kurt confront Karofsky and met him at McKinley. Karofsky ends up pushing Blaine into a fence and refuses to admit that he kissed Kurt, keeping himself in the closet. Blaine and Kurt grow closer after this, talking with each other on the phone and hanging out after school and on weekends.
After Karofsky threatens to kill Kurt if he tells anyone about him being gay, Kurt transfers to Dalton Academy to be safe. Blaine got Kurt into the Warblers, since he knew he was in his school's glee club. Kurt has trouble fitting in with the Warblers' dynamic, and Blaine gets Kurt an audition for the Sectionals competition. Kurt is used to having to scream to get noticed, but the Warblers are all about being a unit. The Warblers and New Directions end up tying in the competition and both move on to the Regionals competition. Around Christmas, Blaine gets a job to sing "Baby, It's Cold Outside" for the King's Island Christmas Spectacular and recruits Kurt to help him rehearse.
Around Valentine's Day, Blaine meets Jeremiah, a junior manager at the Gap. He gets a crush on the older boy and they get coffee a few times. Blaine asks Kurt if it's too cheesy to sing to someone they like on Valentine's Day. He asks the council to perform off campus at the Gap because that's where Jeremiah works. They perform "When I Get You Alone" and Blaine makes a fool of himself when he actually gets Jeremiah fired and the other boy doesn't feel the same towards him. Kurt tells Blaine that he thought the person he wanted to sing to was him and Blaine can't believe how oblivious he was. He tells Kurt that he really cares about him, is really bad at romance and doesn't know what he's doing. He doesn't want to screw up their relationship. Kurt says that it's like When Harry Met Sally and Blaine asks "Don't they get together in the end?" The Warblers then perform at Breadstix for Valentine's Day.
Kurt invites Blaine to a New Directions party at Rachel's house and he agrees to go. Blaine drinks a lot and a game of Spin the Bottle happens. Rachel spins and the bottle lands on Blaine. They kiss and Blaine feels a spark and begins to question whether or not he is fully gay. Kurt ends up putting Blaine in his bed where Blaine passes out and wakes up the next morning with a hangover and wondering where he is. Later, he tells Kurt that he might be bi and they argue about this development. Rachel and Blaine go out on a date and then Rachel is determined to sober herself up and kiss Blaine sober. She does just that a few days later and Blaine doesn't feel anything, confirming that he is indeed 100% gay.
Blaine and Kurt learn that the New Directions are doing 'sexy' for Regionals and Blaine decides that the Warblers need to be sexy. They perform for the girls of Crawford Country Day, and Blaine notices that Kurt's 'sexy face' looks like he's having gas pains or something. He offers to help Kurt with his sexy faces and Kurt reveals that he's not comfortable with this and doesn't know much about sex. Blaine tells him that he will tell him what he knows, but Kurt throws him out of his room. Blaine goes and talks with Kurt's dad in his shop. He tells him that he is worried that because Kurt doesn't know about sex that somewhere down the line, he's going to get drunk at a party and not make good decisions. He tells him that he doesn't have the same relationship with his father as Kurt has with Burt and that it would be really cool to take advantage of that relationship and talk to Kurt.
The Warblers are getting ready for Regionals and Kurt tells Blaine that he's jealous that he gets all the solos. Pavoratti, the Warblers' canary that Kurt is taking care of since he's the newest Warbler, dies of a stroke. Kurt sings 'Blackbird' for his departed friend and Blaine realizes that he's had feelings for him the whole time but was just too blind to see it. At the next meeting, he tells the Warblers that they are going to loose at Regionals unless they make some changes. He tells them that he wants to sing a duet with Kurt and the Warblers agree with him. He goes to talk to Kurt when he's decorating Pavoratti's casket and Kurt asks him why he wanted to sing with him. Blaine tells him that that there is a moment when you look at someone and go "Oh there you are. I've been looking for you forever." And Kurt singing 'Blackbird' was that moment for Blaine about Kurt. He tells him that the duet will just be an excuse to spend more time together and the boys share their first kiss and begin a new relationship. The Warblers perform at Regionals, but loose to New Directions. The boys bury Pavoratti and Blaine tells Kurt they did win because they got each other out of everything.
Blaine attends a benefit concert at McKinley where he has a confrontation with Karofsky. He pushes him in the heat of the moment after Karofsky makes a comment, but then Santana interrupts and Karofsky walks away. Kurt wants to transfer back to McKinley, and Blaine would be okay with that if Kurt was safe. Karofsky and Santana start an anti-bullying club and Kurt decides to transfer back. Blaine and the Warblers say goodbye to Kurt by performing for him at McKinley.Blaine and Kurt still see each other after school and on weekends.
Kurt asks Blaine to Junior Prom and Blaine is very hesitant about accepting. He tells Kurt about what happened at the Sadie Hawkin's dance and Kurt understands and says that they could go see a movie instead. Blaine tells him he's crazy about him and agrees to go to Prom. Kurt makes a kilt to wear to Prom and while Blaine loves that Kurt is being himself, he doesn't want to cause a scene and give people a reason to want to harass them. Kurt ends up wearing the kilt anyways and is crowned Prom Queen by write in vote. Kurt is humiliated and Blaine runs out to talk with him. Blaine tells Kurt they can leave the Prom, but Kurt decides to go back and get coronated because no matter what anyone says, they can't hurt their relationship with each other. Kurt gets crowned Prom Queen and Blaine asks Kurt to dance.
New Directions goes to New York for Nationals and wins 12th place. Kurt tells Blaine all about the trip and Blaine tells Kurt he loves him. Kurt says he loves him too. Blaine is looking forward to spending the summer with his boyfriend and his friends and maybe get a job to perform at a theme park for the summer.
Short rp Sample
It had been a normal meeting for the Warblers. Okay, that was wrong. It had been a fairly hectic rehearsal (at least for the Warblers anyways) as they prepared for Regionals. Blaine had just suggested they wear a slightly different uniform for the competition and chaos erupted in the usually calm choir room. Then Kurt interrupted the madness by telling the club that Pavoratti, one of the canaries in a long line of Warblers' canaries had died. Blaine knew how attached Kurt had gotten to the small bird over the past few months. He felt horrible that the bird died and didn't want Kurt to be sad. He had been through so much this year already.
Kurt began to sing a eulogy for the beloved bird and Blaine sang along with the other Warblers for accompaniment. But, after a while, he began to see Kurt differently. He was used to seeing Kurt wearing his blazer and having to blend in with the other Warblers, having to sing songs and dance dances that the entire group or the council agreed upon. But this, this was so, so very Kurt. Singing with so much honesty and heart. He was being so true to himself with his song selection and oh...why hadn't he seen this before?
He wished he could be so honest and so open about himself and here Kurt was, laying everything out there for a bird.
He couldn't help but think, "Oh, there you are. I've been looking for you forever."
