Amber was out doing what she had said at the beginning of the day was window shopping but anyone that knew her would know that was never the case when she was in the mall. When Amber she was going to the mall she was shopping! Not just for one thing either, oh no. Lets face it you don't go to the mall just to get one thing! You go to get a number of things.
There had been a number of things Amber had her eye on for a while. She didn't know how many things she was going to get...maybe she should have brought Conner to do some heavy lifting. Then again he didn't like shoe shopping at all. He had been a good boy lately so he didn't need to be punished today. Today was the day to get close for the upcoming fall season! She Strutted down the mall to find the right store to start. A girl has to look good with the golden leafs after all.

Wesley strode into the mall with David by his side. The two of them had been best friends since they were kids when Wes moved to Ohio from California and they often hung out together. Today was no different. But, today they had a mission. Both of their girlfriends' birthdays were coming up and they had to figure out a present to get them.
This would have been easier if their girlfriends weren't so close. But no, Jo and Lucy were best friends. So, both of their presents had to be equally awesome and totally different.
Wes walked over to the mall directory and began looking at the different stores. Claire's, Victoria's Secret, Bath and Body Works...some candle shop, several department stores...He sighed. This was going to be a long day. "So, I'm drawing a blank here. I know we should have brought Kurt along for this..." The countertenor ex-Warbler for sure would have known what to get the girls.

"So, I'm drawing a blank here. I know we should have brought Kurt along for this..."
David chuckled halfheartedly. He and Wes were here to buy presents for their girlfriends. And it was going to be hard. It was always hard. David stared blankly at the mall directory. Why was shopping so hard? There was a reason that girls liked it and boys didn't. Boys weren't supposed to shop, except for holidays and birthdays. Oh wait....right...
Well, David swallowed his pride and decided he had to face up to the fact that...he had no ideas. Zero. Lucy was so hard to shop for! He really liked his red-head, but she was impossible sometimes. "If we brought Kurt along, Blaine would have wanted to come. And then we would have had to deal with those two making goo-goo eyes at each other the whole time." He really liked Blaine and Kurt. But it was hard to be around them sometimes. It took them forever to get together, and now that they finally were together, David didn't even know what to call it. But Kurt was a very good shopper. "But, maybe we can call Kurt to ask his advice?"

She had taken a walk through the mall once to eye all of the stores. That and to make a strategy of how she was gonna take this mall out as fast as possible. Though she really knew it wasn't going to be fast at all. Ah what a day it was! It was too bad that Lucy and Jo couldn't be here with her. Alas they had other things to do. Maybe they were hanging out with their boy friends. This however gave her a chance to shop for there birthday. Right before she went to enter he first shop she noticed the two boyfriend. Well well so they weren't with their boy friends after all. Maybe she would have some lifting power after all. She walked up behind them and wrapped her arms around them. "Well hello there Grand Warbler Lords. How are you two?"

"If we brought Kurt along, Blaine would have wanted to come. And then we would have had to deal with those two making goo-goo eyes at each other the whole time. But, maybe we can call Kurt to ask his advice?"
Wes sighed and rolled his eyes. It was true. Blaine was one of his best friends and he really liked Kurt, but those two were so in love it was sickening to watch sometimes. It had gotten worse when Kurt transferred back to McKinley. Blaine moped around all the time and was texting Kurt constantly. They had managed to stop Blaine from moping around as much, but he still texted Kurt. It was only recently that Wes and David had manged to get the soloist to not text Kurt during their rehearsals. "Ugh, you're right. And Blaine would distract Kurt from helping us shop. There's no winning with those two," he sighed and nodded his head. "I think calling him is going to be our best bet."
"Well hello there Grand Warbler Lords. How are you two?"
Wes blinked and stiffened in surprise at the sudden girl wrapping her arms around them. Who could - oh. Okay. It was one of Jo and Lucy's friends. She was on the Larks, Crawford's all girls choir with them as well. Amber wasn't it? "Hm, Grand Warbler Lords. I like the sound of that. I might have to make that a rule to have other members call us that," he said, smiling a little, really thinking about the idea. It probably wouldn't go over well with the other members though. "Hello Amber. We're here looking for presents for our girlfriends. And we have no idea where to start. Why are you girls so hard to shop for?" he asked, chuckling a little bit. Maybe Amber would help them...

"Hm, Grand Warbler Lords. I like the sound of that. I might have to make that a rule to have other members call us that,"
She cocked her eyebrow. "Uhu, I don't think so! That my special name for you guys." She chuckled patting them on the back. She did love to give them a hard time, after all she couldn't really make it easy on the guys that are dating her friends. Though she was very flattered that he loved the name. He seemed to like his position a whole lot. Is his status how he got Jo?
"Hello Amber. We're here looking for presents for our girlfriends. And we have no idea where to start. Why are you girls so hard to shop for?"
So they were gonna do what she was doing to do. Sounded like a good reason to work with them to carry her stuff. Plus she needed to talk to them about Conner anyway. It was kinda sad that they had no idea what to get them. God bless them they were trying! She was gonna make sure they got Jo and Lucy good gifts. Her friends deserved good gifts. "Aww poor babies, that's okay I'll help you boys!" She put he hands on her hips. "Its not that we are hard to shop for its that you don't know how to shop!" She said with a playful attitude.

"Ugh, you're right. And Blaine would distract Kurt from helping us shop. There's no winning with those two. I think calling him is going to be our best bet."
David nodded. They were really lost here. They needed help big time from...well from anyone really. Preferably a girl. And Kurt, well he had told them once that he was an honorary girl. He basically had the mind of a girl. So, he would be the best person to help.
"Well hello there Grand Warbler Lords. How are you two?"
"Hm, Grand Warbler Lords. I like the sound of that. I might have to make that a rule to have other members call us that."
"Uhu, I don't think so! That my special name for you guys."
Aw, and David had really wanted people to call them that. It had a certain ring to it. A ring that he would take great pride in hearing from all of his fellow Warblers. But apparently this girl, Amber, wouldn't let that happen. Wait...Amber...girl. This was it. This was what they needed. She was a girl. They could ask for her advice for Jo and Lucy (especially Lucy). Just when he was about to mention this, Wes started talking.
"Hello Amber. We're here looking for presents for our girlfriends. And we have no idea where to start. Why are you girls so hard to shop for?"
"Aww poor babies, that's okay I'll help you boys! Its not that we are hard to shop for its that you don't know how to shop!"
Whether they knew how to shop or not, it still stands that it was impossible to shop for girls, especially Jo and Lucy. David didn't care if that statement didn't make sense. It made sense in his head, and that was all that mattered. Plus, Amber said that she would help them! It was perfect. Amber was friends with their girlfriends. So, she would know what they liked, maybe even what they wanted. Thank goodness they ran into her. "Amber, that would be great. We're...kinda lost here," he chuckled. He didn't like to admit it, but it was true.

"Amber, that would be great. We're...kinda lost here,"
"Well that's apparent." She said with a playful attitude. Nothing like leading two clueless guys on a escapade to find the perfect gift for there girl friends. The thought of them doing it on their own made her think of a bad sitcom; 'Warbled and Confused' Fox Tuesdays at 8! She would watch it.
"Alright," She said clapping her hands together. "Lets see who was playing the I listen to my girl friend game! What do you think your girl friends want?"

"Uhu, I don't think so! That my special name for you guys."
Special name...huh. Okay. But he still liked the idea of the other Warblers calling them that. Blaine would probably flat out refuse or find a way to turn the title against them. Maybe it wasn't suce a good idea.
"Aww poor babies, that's okay I'll help you boys! Its not that we are hard to shop for its that you don't know how to shop!"
"Amber, that would be great. We're...kinda lost here,"
"I'm okay with not knowing how to shop actually. It just gets hard to do when birthdays and valentine's and Christmas come around. If you girls would just tell us what you wanted, it would make our lives so much easier," he said, chuckling a little. He loved Jo, but she could be hard to read sometimes. They were both competitive people and Jo was very opinionated and knew what she wanted. They were both the Presidents of their respective glee clubs, so they both knew how to get things done and be professional as well. She just wasn't the easiest person to buy presents for.
"Alright, Lets see who was playing the I listen to my girl friend game! What do you think your girl friends want?"
"I think if we knew the answer to that question, we wouldn't be in need of your expertise," he said, smirking. Why wasn't this shopping thing easier? Couldn't they just give their girlfriends flowers or money or something? That way they could get what they wanted and the boys wouldn't have to worry about getting the perfect present?

"I'm okay with not knowing how to shop actually. It just gets hard to do when birthdays and valentine's and Christmas come around. If you girls would just tell us what you wanted, it would make our lives so much easier."
David nodded in agreement. At least boys told you what they wanted. Girls just left little hints that left all men dumbfounded. Girls left hints because they thought men could read their minds. But they couldn't. It was crazy to ask. "I think Wes has a point. I mean, what is it with the stupid hints you girls drop. They really aren't hints at all. I don't get them."
"Alright, Lets see who was playing the I listen to my girl friend game! What do you think your girl friends want?"
"I think if we knew the answer to that question, we wouldn't be in need of your expertise."
Wes took the words right out of David's mouth. Seriously, if they knew what the girls wanted, they would just walk into the mall and get the presents. They wouldn't need the help of the Lark standing before them. But, they did. "Exactly. If we knew, we wouldn't be in this situation." David supposed, it was an opportunity to get to know one of Lucy's really good friends. Lucy was always telling him to do something like that. But he was always too busy with Warbler business. That, or he just plain didn't want to. He loved Lucy, but he wanted to hang with his own friends that understood him, not with her friends that he couldn't understand at all because they all spoke way too fast.

"Stupid?!" She said with sass. "Your the stupid ones if you can't pick up what we are putting down." She was now a little annoyed with them but then again they were boys, it took them a while to keep up with the ladies of the world. Poor simple lads. If she wasn't here then they might get their girlfriends an awful gift. She couldn't let that happen to her friends.
"I think if we knew the answer to that question, we wouldn't be in need of your expertise."
"Lets break it down fellas. I think we are going to go with something simple. They have their uniforms on most of the time so lets go with some kind of accessory they can wear all of the time. In and out of uniform."

"I think Wes has a point. I mean, what is it with the stupid hints you girls drop. They really aren't hints at all. I don't get them."
Wes nodded at his friend. It was true. A lot of the time Jo played hard to get so it was even more confusing. At least Lucy was sweet most of the time. Sure she had practically tried to adopt Kurt once she had found out his mother died (she liked 'adopting' motherless creatures) but that had been alright. But then again, Wes was pretty sure he wouldn't be able to handle a girl like that. Not with how competitive he was. Which was why he and Jo got along so well. He just wish he knew what she wanted for her birthday...
"Stupid?! Your the stupid ones if you can't pick up what we are putting down."
He sighed and rolled his eyes a little. Okay, yeah he got it. Girls all thought guys were stupid. Been there. Done that. Moving on. It was old news. How this rumor got started he wasn't sure, but he was pretty sure he didn't have the time to figure it out. But it didn't mean he had to hear about it from someone that wasn't his girlfriend. He had a feeling this was going to be a long day...
"Lets break it down fellas. I think we are going to go with something simple. They have their uniforms on most of the time so lets go with some kind of accessory they can wear all of the time. In and out of uniform."
Oh. Wow. He liked that idea. Just the fact that Jo would be wearing something all the time that he had gotten her. He felt a little possessive all of a sudden. But didn't girls hate that? He didn't want Jo to be mad at him...maybe if it was like jewelry or something? Girls liked jewelry right? His dad was always getting his mom jewelry for her birthday... "That sounds nice. Like jewelry or something? Do you think she would like that?" Jo could be very opinionated at times so he was pretty sure he would know if she liked it or not when she opened the present...

"Stupid?! Your the stupid ones if you can't pick up what we are putting down."
Whoops! David didn't mean to start a riot. He was just commenting that the hints and clues were too ambiguous to figure out. He kept trying to get Lucy to just tell him outright what she was wanting. But the girl never did. Once she said it was his job to figure it out. His job? His job was Warbler historian, being Lucy's boyfriend was just a perk...not that he'd ever tell her that. Oh no. He would be in so much trouble. Now that he thought about it, it did seem like a job, and Lucy was his boss. When did that happen? He sighed. It was bound to happen some day, he guessed.
"Lets break it down fellas. I think we are going to go with something simple. They have their uniforms on most of the time so lets go with some kind of accessory they can wear all of the time. In and out of uniform."
"That sounds nice. Like jewelry or something? Do you think she would like that?"
Jewelry, huh? That could work. He had often seen Lucy wearing jewelry. But, wait, didn't guys wait a while to give jewelry to their girlfriends? Well, he had been dating Lucy more than a year. What was the protocol for that? Should he wait longer? Would Lucy think David was trying to move faster than was acceptable? Maybe he should see what Amber thought of the jewelry idea. It seemed like a possibility. Or, maybe something to wear in their hair. Lucy often complained about not having anything to do with her hair. David always thought it was wonderful, the best shade of red, ever. But maybe she would enjoy something like that. "Jewelry might be good, or maybe a really nice hair accessory?" he guessed, running his hand over his very cropped hair. He didn't want to sound stupid, but he really wasn't sure.

"That sounds nice. Like jewelry or something? Do you think she would like that? Jewelry might be good, or maybe a really nice hair accessory?"
Amber stopped an pondered for a second. They were on the right track. After all what girl didn't like to get jewelry? She thought the fellas might have hope after all. She should really put more faith in the fearless leaders of the Warblers but what fun would that be? "Well guys I like were you are going with this. Ever girl likes jewelry! For instance." She removed the necklace from her neck and showed them a sparkling blue stone. "My guy got me a sapphire necklace and its my favorite thing ever. I've come to find that sapphires are totally my gem so maybe you can get your girl friends their own 'gems'." She returned the necklace to its rightful place. "By the way my boyfriend is coming to Dalton this up coming year." She said after returning the sapphire around her neck.

Wes nodded at Amber as she showed off her necklace. It was very pretty. He wasn't sure if Jo would want something like that. She wasn't really into anything too flashy. Maybe if he found something more simple..."That could work. I'm sure I can find Jo something she would like," he said, smiling a little.
"By the way my boyfriend is coming to Dalton this up coming year."
Oh? A transfer student? Well, those were always welcomed at Dalton. Blaine had transferred to the school and he had been welcomed with open arms, especially after they had found out he could sing. They had gotten him to join the Warblers and the curly-haired boy had really opened up and had even become their lead singer this year. "Really? That's great. Dalton's always open to new students," he said, looking at the mall directory to find out where the elusive jewelry store was located.
